Got Your Back: Communities Supporting Veterans Returning Home

A one-day introductory training session that provides individuals and organizations with the background and resources to create effective outreach to local veterans. 
The training covers the positive and negative aspects of combat and the impact on re-entry; ways to support vets spiritually and emotionally upon their return; what YOU can do to support veterans and active duty military on their return.  It is aimed at community leaders, pastors and church members, healthcare professionals, firefighters and police officers, teachers, social workers, veterans and those on active duty and their families - and anyone who wants to help provide support.
Presenters include Gabe Nutter, a combat vet with over 250 missions in S. Baghdad, now a team leader and educator with the Dept. of Veterans Services;  Beverly Prestwood-Taylor, an international trauma healing trainer, and Cynthia Crosson-Harrington, developer of a program placing service dogs with veterans.

Registration is $15 and lunch will be served.
