Bird Conservation From Your Backyard And Beyond

Event Date:
Saturday, May 19, 2018 - 10:30am

Presented by Devin & Aidan Griffiths, local bird experts

Spring migration is perhaps the best time to be a birder—especially here in the Northeast. It comes on the heels of the cold, dark winter, arriving with sunlight and warmer days and bringing some of our most spectacular birds back from their long absence, filling fields, forests, and backyards with color and life.

We take their return for granted, but it is by no means guaranteed. Migratory birds face a host of threats—climate change and habitat loss the greatest among them. But all is not lost. Join birders Devin and Aidan Griffiths for a look at how global issues are affecting our local birds. You’ll learn what’s being done to encourage and promote their conservation both here and abroad, and what you can do right now to help. By working together, we can ensure that these wonderful birds continue to delight us well into the future.
