Who do I believe?
Event Date:
Tuesday, March 21, 2017 - 6:00pm

Join us for a talk with UMass Journalism Professor Steve Fox

The news landscape has changed dramatically in the past two decades – and even more so in the last 18 months. The number of news sources available today has been described as a fire hose. This cacophony of noise – ranging from wall-to-wall cable television coverage to countless citizen journalists tweeting news events to politicians and government agencies reporting directly to the public has created a real dilemma for news consumers: Who do I believe?

Steve Fox has 25 years of experience as an editor and reporter for print and online publications, including 10 as an editor in various capacities at The Washington Post's award-winning Web site. A Senior Lecturer at UMass Amherst, Steve teaches courses in investigative and political journalism, with a recent focus on news literacy.
